Disclaimer
The Global Cleanup Games is an independent grassroots movement and is not affiliated with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), LA28, or the official Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. However, we'd like them to hear about our wish and make trash cleanups a new Olympic sport in the near future. The Global Cleanup Games and the petition asking to bring Trash Cleanups on the Olympic roster are both inspired by the spirit of collective effort, global participation, and the sportsmanship values of excellence, respect, and collaboration.
We use the term "Global Games" to celebrate the idea that environmental action is a universal sport — one that everyone can participate in — regardless of location, ability, or background. When people sign the petition, they have the option to refrain from making their names public, and it is not necessary to type surnames — this is an important privacy aspect to remember, especially if the signers are under 21 years old.
The Daily Trash Mob Hashtag recommendations are for age-appropriate audiences, not younger school-age children, though many older teens are already active on social media. Some countries imposed age restrictions for social media use. We do not encourage and support actions that go against those regulations.
This is a community-driven initiative dedicated to raising eco-awareness and mobilizing people to take action on litter and environmental cleanup. All participants engage in cleanup activities at their own discretion and assume responsibility for their own safety.
